Introduction to the Novato Theater Company
|
For the Novato Theater Company, the answer is easy. Talent. Energy. Dedication.
Backed by over 80 years of history, we are committed to providing
outstanding community theatre to the San Francisco Bay Area.
We have our origins in 1919, as a section of the Novato Improvement Club. Our
present theater was built as part of the Novato Community House in 1924. And
in 1947, we were incorporated as a non-profit corporation under the title of Novato Community,
Inc.--better known as the Novato Community Players! In 2004 we changed our name to Novato Theater Company.
Today, the NTC draws casts and audiences from all over the San Francisco Bay Area, who enjoy our quality productions.
Both in front of the spotlight and at
any of our social functions, our year is a busy one. On stage, we offer
four full-length productions each season. Off stage, we enjoy a summer
picnic, our annual installation dinner for newly elected officers, a
Holiday party, and, of course, those raucous after-rehearsal and cast parties!
Pacheco Playhouse is located in the Pacheco Plaza Shopping Center in Novato, the Pacheco Playhouse is the only non-profit performing arts center in Novato. It has fully updated theater facilities with lighting, sound, seating for 95, air conditioning and parking for everyone.

Presbyterian Church of Novato is located at 710 Wilson Avenue in Novato. Auditions and rehearsals are sometimes held in the building behind the church.

Our members have a diversity of
experience with the theatre. Their abilities encompass acting, dancing,
singing, directing, stage managing, and much, much more! Over the
years, we've watched both novice and experienced alike learn and
develop with the NTC.
Membership meetings are held on the third
Monday of every other month and are open to the public. Along with
discussing business, new members are introduced and social activities
are planned. The membership further participates in functions through
committees such as Technical, Playreading, and Site Improvement. Dues
are paid annually, and members receive a copy of our monthly
newsletter, The Prompter.
Our seven-member Board of Directors is
elected from the general membership each April. They oversee and
participate in the decision-making process.
Subscribers
Every year, we invite the public to come out and see our entire season of shows for one low price.
All Subscriptions are $70.00.
The package includes a complementary beverage and a reserved seat for each play.
